What diwan promises about your writing.
Your writing in diwan is yours
Every document belongs to the person it was written for, including what your assistant writes on your behalf. It is private by default: nobody else can see it, not even diwan's administrators, until you share it.
When you share a document or a session, with the team or with one person, they can read it and comment on it; only you and your assistant can change it. You can stop sharing at any time, and it disappears from their view at once. No copies are kept.
When someone shares something with you by name, diwan sends you one email that evening: who shared what, and their note. It never contains the writing itself. Until you have signed in to diwan once, it says only who shared something with you, not what, because nobody has yet confirmed that the address is yours. Like any email it reaches you through your email provider. You can switch it off in Settings. Sharing with the whole team sends no email.
If an email to you cannot be delivered, whoever shared with you sees that it bounced, and so do diwan's owners on the Users page, so that your address can be put right. diwan keeps only the fact that it bounced: the report itself comes back to a mailbox of diwan's own, and is deleted there 30 days after it arrives.
A complete history, kept safe
Like any careful archive, diwan keeps a complete history and a backup of everything written in it. That backup is held by diwan's custodians, made up of the Truth Promoters Core Team, so that nothing is ever lost. It is not shared with other users.
